Today is our first day trip from Casa Cares to the city of Pisa and city of Lucca. Pisa is about 2 hours away from Reggello (where Casa Cares is) Pisa is a small little town and we spent about 2 hours there.
There are 4 buildings in the center of Pisa (the tourist attraction): The baptistry, the cemetery, the cathedral and of course the leaning tower of Pisa.
This is the baptistry in Pisa
Inside of the baptistry looking down from the gallery
This is the courtyard inside the cemetery. Roses growing everywhere!
The whole courtyard
The leaning tower of Pisa
The whole area of Pisa. The baptistry, the cathedral, and the leaning tower peeking from the back.
The cemetery is on the right parallel to the cathedral.
Now entering Lucca. The city is small and charming. Too bad the weather was so bad. There is a wall around the city and you can get on to walk or bike around on the city wall. It's a 2.5 miles loop.
One of the big beautiful marble church!
We climbed up a watch tower for a view of the city of Pisa.
This is 230 steps later on top of the tower.
It was a rainy day so the streets were pretty empty.
I just enjoyed the walking around the city in the rain...
....and getting gelato :)
Eventually, it was raining so hard and I went and ducked under the awning of a church. Then, I heard some beautiful music coming from somewhere and I started to follow the music. Eventually I stumbled upon a full symphony playing a free concert under the tent. It was a really magical moment. No one was sitting in the rain but the audience were all ducked under the covered area all around the courtyard.
The pictures look great! Although, it looks like the one of the courtyard didn't upload correctly.
